Die Roten Punkte are part trainwreck, part punk-rock and wholly hilarious. Actually, the train story comes later, but it’s one of the many reasons you’ll thoroughly enjoy this show! Adding to my own recommendation is that of the many other laughing attendees with ear-to-ear grins at the sold out opening night performance. Otto and Astrid Rot make up this brother-sister rock duo and quickly establish a better relationship with the audience than with each other. Amid their disfunctionality and oft-poorly chosen English, these Berliners are well versed in rock history making reference to Brian Eno, The White Stripes, The Velvet Underground and more. A day later I can easilly recall their face-painted expressions and they once again bring a smile to my face. Check out their remaining appearances at Venue 1 of Fringe Fest for a comic dose of art rock, sibling rivalry and dillusions of grandeur!
