Victoria Fringe 2012 is almost here, and CFUV 101.9FM is kicking off our coverage of this fun and slightly addictive theatre festival.
With over 55 shows featuring international and local talent, I cannot wait to see what Fringe has to offer this year.
Between Phoenix and I, we will bring you coverage of as many shows as we can. Watch this blog for interviews with the artists, reviews of the shows and insights into the Fringe experience.
As the producer of Women on Air at CFUV 101.9FM, I spend my days covering women’s issues, art, social justice issues and local news. You can expect me to cover the broad range of shows at Fringe, with a slight emphasis on the social commentary many of these shows provide.
Phoenix and I have so many interviews with performers to bring to you before the first Fringe show even happens!
Here’s our first one with Andrew Barrett, the Artistic Director of Impulse Theatre. Impulse is showing The Damned Girl at Fringe this year. It’s a dynamic piece of physical/dance theatre featuring the talents of 11 performers who are, primarily, current and recent graduates of the UVic theatre department.
The Damned Girl plays at Venue 6 (Langham Court Theatre)
