Hanafuda Denki: A Tale of Playing Cards

I caught up with Claire Tanaka, translator for the Ryuzangi Company about their play Hanafuda Denki: A Tale of Playing Cards. The play is a musical performed in Japanese with subtitles. Hanafuda Denki tells the story of a dead family who own a funeral home and what happens when their daughter falls in love with a living man. They have performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and in New York are coming to Victoria as the third stop on their tour. We talked about the play itself, what we can expect, and what she likes about Fringe Festivals. Listen below!

Hanafuda Denki premieres tonight at the Metro Studio (Venue 3). For more information, check out www.victoriafringe.com.
