The Human Body Project was first started in 2006 by teacher, mother and visual artist Tasha Diamant. By appearing naked and unscripted on-stage, Diamant embodies human vulnerability.
I spoke with Tasha about how The Human Body Project started at Fringe 2012, and she asked that I re-post the interview for this year’s festival. Listen below to hear how Tasha explains how this performance art is both a resistance to aspects of Western culture and a form of healing.
The Human Body Project is playing “Off-Fringe” at Discovery Coffee, and the piece opens August 22 at 7:15pm. For more information, visit www.humanbodyproject.com.
